Quality that works beyond the audit

Learn how to design and run a Quality Management System that supports real operations, informed decisions, and continuous improvement.

Overview

The Quality Manager Track enables you to take responsibility for implementing as well as coordinating and managing a Quality Management System (QMS) based on ISO 9001.

Instead of treating quality as a documentation exercise, the programme teaches how to embed quality thinking into processes, responsibilities, monitoring and decision-making.

Target audience

  • Practitioners, implementers, and consultants involved in the design, implementation, or improvement of quality management systems (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001

  • Individuals with project or overall responsibility for introducing or evolving a quality management system

  • Current or aspiring quality managers, coordinators, or system owners responsible for operating and steering an existing QMS

  • Members of quality or process management teams who play an active role in shaping, evolving, and continually improving quality management practices

Learning outcomes

In this track, you will acquire the following capabilities.

Design a QMS that actually works

  • Translate ISO 9001 into practical, organisation-specific processes

  • Avoid over-documentation while staying audit-ready

Take ownership of quality governance

  • Define roles, responsibilities and decision rights for quality

  • Position quality clearly within management and operations

Manage risks, performance and improvement

  • Identify quality risks before they turn into incidents or audit findings

  • Define KPIs that management actually uses

  • Run management reviews that lead to decisions, not minutes

Lead audits and improvement with confidence

  • Prepare and support internal and external audits professionally

  • Turn audit results and feedback into targeted improvement initiatives

Professional positioning

  • Establish a recognised competence profile as Quality Manager in ISO 9001-based organisations

  • Take responsibility for the implementation of a new QMS or the coordination of an existing system

Modular approach

Shared foundation

Halderstone tracks are designed as a modular system. Modules completed as part of one track do not need to be repeated when pursuing an additional track. This approach reduces redundancy, respects prior learning, and enables structured progression across multiple disciplines.

If you later decide to extend your competence to additional domains and ISO standards, you can earn additional manager credentials without repeating the common core. This allows you to build an integrated competence profile step by step with limited additional effort.
