Overview

The Quality Manager Track prepares you to take responsibility for planning, operating and improving a Quality Management System (QMS) based on ISO 9001. Instead of treating quality as a documentation exercise, the programme shows how to embed quality thinking into processes, responsibilities, monitoring and decision-making.

You develop the skills to:

  • analyse organisational context and stakeholder expectations,

  • establish a governance and policy framework for quality,

  • apply risk-based thinking in a structured, repeatable way,

  • design and control processes,

  • set meaningful objectives and performance indicators,

  • evaluate system effectiveness,

  • and drive continual improvement.

The track uses the modular Halderstone curriculum: most modules are shared with other manager tracks, enabling easy extension into additional domains (such as environmental or information security management). A quality-specific specialisation completes the track and ensures applicability to real-world QMS operation. A final assessment consolidates learning into a realistic QMS scenario, leading to a Halderstone diploma and a quality specialisation certificate.

Two credentials with one track

Halderstone Professional Diploma in Management Systems

The Halderstone Professional Diploma in Management Systems certifies a solid, cross-domain foundation in designing, operating and improving management systems. It focuses on the common principles that apply across standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 22301 and ISO/IEC 42001.

The diploma demonstrates that you can analyse organisational context, establish governance and roles, apply risk-based thinking, define objectives and controls, evaluate performance and drive continual improvement. It confirms your ability to manage systems as living organisational capabilities, not as isolated compliance initiatives.

This core diploma is shared across all Halderstone Manager tracks and forms the basis for adding further domain specialisations efficiently.

Halderstone Specialist Certificate in Quality Management

The Quality Management specialisation focuses on applying general management system practices to the specific needs of a Quality Management System aligned with ISO 9001. You learn how to interpret quality requirements in a practical way, integrate quality thinking into operational processes, and manage risks that affect product and service conformity.

This includes understanding customer requirements, managing process variations, coordinating with suppliers, controlling changes, handling nonconformities and ensuring traceability of decisions. The emphasis is on building a QMS that employees use, not tolerate—a system that supports reliable delivery, customer satisfaction and business performance.

Most modules in this track are shared with other Halderstone manager tracks, such as Integrated Management System Manager or Information Security Manager. This means you can earn additional specialisation certificates with only a few extra modules—without repeating the core.

For example, completing the Quality Manager Track brings you close to qualifying for Environmental Management or Information Security Management specialisations. The additional effort is typically 1–3 modules depending on the domain.

Capstone project and final exam

Practical and theoretical demonstration of your acquired competence in Quality Management

The track concludes with a combined assessment:

  • a written exam covering the essential principles of management systems and quality management, and

  • a capstone project in which participants design or improve a QMS for a selected organisation or context.

The project includes defining the quality context, roles, risks, processes, operational controls, monitoring approach and improvement mechanisms. The assessment is designed to test practical application rather than memorisation of standard clauses.

Successful participants receive the Halderstone Professional Diploma in Management Systems Management and the Halderstone Specialist Certificate in Quality Management.
