Overview
The ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Track prepares participants to audit quality management systems in accordance with ISO 9001. Instead of focusing solely on checklists or reciting standard clauses, this programme teaches how to understand processes, assess risks and evaluate evidence systematically.
Through the Halderstone modular curriculum, participants learn the full internal audit cycle:
planning an audit based on risks and priorities,
conducting interviews and gathering objective evidence,
sampling processes and activities effectively,
analysing nonconformities, causes and improvement opportunities,
writing clear audit findings and reports,
and following up actions to ensure real improvement.
This track combines general auditing skills applicable to any ISO standard with quality-specific content required for ISO 9001. The modular approach also allows participants to transition easily into additional internal auditor tracks such as ISO/IEC 27001 or ISO 14001 by taking only a small number of extra modules.

Most auditing skills taught in this track are shared across other Halderstone auditor programmes. Participants can earn additional internal auditor specialisations—such as ISO/IEC 27001 or ISO 14001—by completing only the domain-specific modules, without repeating the auditing foundations.
This modular approach supports auditors who must work in multi-standard environments or integrated management systems.
