Develop the capability to design, manage and continuously improve an effective Environmental Management System aligned with ISO 14001
Overview
The Environmental Manager Track prepares participants to take responsibility for establishing, maintaining and improving an Environmental Management System (EMS) in accordance with ISO 14001. Rather than treating environmental management as a compliance layer or documentation exercise, this programme teaches how to embed environmental thinking into strategy, operations, risk management and decision-making.

Practitioners, implementers, and consultants involved in the design, implementation, or improvement of environmental management systems (EMS) aligned with ISO 14001
Individuals with project or overall responsibility for introducing or evolving an environmental management system
Current or aspiring environmental managers, coordinators, or system owners responsible for operating and steering an existing EMS
Members of environmental, sustainability, or health, safety and environment (HSE) teams who play an active role in shaping, evolving, and continually improving environmental management practices

In this track, you will acquire the following capabilities.
Design an Environmental Management System that actually works
Translate ISO 14001 into practical, organisation-specific governance and processes
Integrate environmental management coherently into the organisation’s existing management systems
Take ownership of environmental governance
Define roles, responsibilities and decision rights for environmental management
Position environmental topics clearly within management and operational decision-making
Manage environmental risks, performance and improvement
Identify and assess environmental risks and impacts before they turn into incidents or nonconformities
Define monitoring and indicators that provide management with meaningful environmental information
Lead audits and continual improvement with confidence
Prepare and support internal and external EMS audits professionally
Use audit results, incidents and performance data to drive targeted improvements
Professional positioning
Establish a recognised competence profile as Environmental Manager in ISO 14001-based organisations
Take responsibility for the implementation of a new EMS or the coordination of an existing system
Act as a competent counterpart to senior management, clients, auditors and certification bodies
